Insight Meditation Retreat: June 25 to July 2, 2015

We are happy to announce that Thanat Chindaporn will be coming to Toronto to teach a Vipassana meditation course from June 25 to July 2, 2015.


Teacher

Thanat Chindaporn is a lay meditation teacher in the Therevada Buddhist tradition and is currently the Director of the International Meditation Department at Wat Phradhatu Sri Chomtong Voravihara, Chomtong, Chiangmai where he trained under Venerable Ajahn Tong Sirimangalo and the late Venerable Phra Banyat Akkayano, the former director of Thailand's Northern Insight Meditation Centre. Since 1988, he has taught meditation in Thailand, India, Washington State, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, California, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Slovenia, France and Israel. Based in Thailand for most of the year, he spends the summer months teaching western students internationally. In 2004, he received Thailand's Benefactor of Buddhism Award for his dissemination of Buddhism world-wide.

Registration

Registration is now open to new and returning meditators. To register, please fill out and submit the application form. You may view the basic rules for the course here.

Costs

The cost is by donation for actual costs plus any supplementary donation you wish to offer and your donation to Khun Thanat. Our costs including food typically run at about $35/person/day for shared accommodation and $50/person/day for single accommodation. Transportation for Khun Thanat from Seattle has been kindly offered by one of our senior meditators. Donations for his flight to and from Thailand are welcome and appreciated.
